Summing up I will never go there again and make sure no one spends £37. I have had afternoon teas elsewhere and they were fabulous but if you’re not paying to upgrade or paying for gratuity then the staff just look after those guests. again with nobody asking about our wellbeing or without even saying goodbye. We felt like second class citizens and couldn’t wait to leave. Again nobody asked if we were ok or was everything alright whilst other guests were having tea poured and more drinks. Then came two scones each not much bigger than a 50p with cream and jam which was far too much unless you had about four more scones!!įollowing that we were given four mini fancy cakes a couple had taste but all frill and no flavour. We were asked if we wanted more so had more Cheese and onion. so four fingers each with crusts cut off. The sandwiches were four pieces of bread cut into fingers. pouring tea and asking if they were happy and what would you like !!! We had none of that … milk arrived and then the Sandwiches!! We had chewy ham on one and cheese and onion on the other which seemed like it came out of a jar of spread. Eventually tea and coffee arrived but no milk so waited again whilst the staff were buzzing around other guests. After declining this offer the afternoon seemed to go even more down hill. eventually asked would we want to upgrade to one of the other teas as we only had the first choice on the menu. a table where we sat for over 10 minutes before being spoken to.

What a let down …first kept waiting to be seated when it was half empty, eventually seen and taken to. Gifted a voucher for afternoon for two at the Grosvenor Hotel Chester for my 60th Birthday which my wife and I were looking forward to!
